SGI Global Environment index aims to reflect the global environment sector worldwide.
SGI Global Environment is calculated by S&P Dow Jones Indices and compiled by RobecoSAM Group (Sustainable Asset Management).
The global index comprises 30 stocks of companies which have their biggest share of revenues in either or several of the following investment clusters: clean water, alternative energy and waste management. Index components are selected and weighted according to their free float market capitalisation and market liquidity. Stocks whose free float weight in euros accounts for more than 10% of the selected list are capped at 10% of the basket. The composition of the SGI Global Environment index is reviewed on a semi-annual basis and the constituents data (i.e. number of shares, free float factor, weighting cap factor) of the index is reviewed on a quarterly basis.
