The SGI Global Seniors index aims at capturing the total return performance of stocks issued by companies which are expected to benefit the most from the increasing ageing of the World population.
SGI Global Seniors is a global benchmark of the various sectors linked to the seniors’ consumption. SGI Global Seniors consists of the most representative companies in the fields of assisted living residences, personal care as well as leisure, casinos golf, etc.
The index is designed to reflect precisely the seniors sector worldwide. Constituents are included with the objective to allocate 40% of the index to Health, 30% to Leisure, 15% to Housing/Services and 15% to Finance.
An additional consideration is given to the overall geographic exposure of the index, with higher weightings allocated to the USA and Europe. These proportions are subject to review if deemed appropriate in the face of changing economic dynamics. Stocks are equally weighted within their respective sector.
The index composition is reviewed every six months by Société Générale (the index sponsor). The index is also reviewed to meet liquidity, and other tradability constraints.
