The SGI Global Generics index aims to reflect the global generics sector.
SGI Global Generics is calculated by S&P Dow Jones and is composed by Société Générale.

Mechanism

SGI Global Generics is a benchmark of the global generics sector worldwide.
SGI Global Generics consists of the most representative companies in the fields of  generic medicines. Based on company disclosure on the launch date the index is invested 44% USA, 17% India and 39% Rest of the World. 
This geographical breakdown is expected to be fairly stable, and yet may vary according to changes in the industry dynamics.
The number of stocks (currently 19) in the index is subject to change. 
The index composition is reviewed every six months by Société Générale (the index sponsor) in order to reflect new entrants, corporate actions, as well as potential changes in the companies core activities, and ensure the continuous relevance of the stock selection.
